West of Scotland Cup

2nd Round : 6th March 2010

Vale of Clyde v Clydebank FC

The match was approaching ninety minutes with the score at 0 - 0. Match referee Frank Connor awarded Clydebank a free kick which was sent into the Vales goalmouth as the Bankies searched for a late winner. Some solid defending followed by our defence which ended with the pass of the day from Joe Hayes as he sweetly struck the ball towards the on runing Keiran Downs. Downs set off goalbound and took control of the ball at speed, and with the Bankies defenders chasing in vain, the striker despatched past keeper Gonet with some style. This result was well earned by the boys, as at one point, being down to 9 men, all looked a bit gloomy. So well done boys, and to the Vale faithful, who never gave up encouraging their club, a real team effort by all. [ Match Details & Your Reports ]

LATEST SCOTTISH CUP UPDATE : 13 PROVES UNLUCKY FOR THE TIN PAIL

23/01/2010

2nd Round Fixture v Johnstone Burgh FC

The Emirates Scottish cup tie between Vale of Clyde and Johnstone Burgh had already been postponed 12 times due to the recent spell of bad football weather, so it was good news that the game was eventualy on.

Although the Vale had some good spells of attacking football over the 90 minutes, it was Burgh that showed the killer touch in front of goal. McIntyre & Smith got the vital goals for Burgh while striker Derek Anderson notched a late consolation goal for the Tin Pail. Johnstone Burgh now take the 3rd round challenge to The Gateway Stadium v Rutherglen Glencairn next weekend. [ More ]

10/09/2009

Story by John Crooks,

I would just like to extend my thanks to both you and Tom Scott for all your support, interest and exclusives on all matters related to the Vale during our time. With regret and in the interests of the club (first and foremost) and our own

personal reasons, Danny and myself stepped down from our current positions. I would personally like to thank Brian Kelly, Jim Wilson, Davie Armitage and all other Committee Members for their commitment and support in our short period of time. To those Players who also gave us their full support and backing.
