Visitors attending tonight's Sectional League Cup tie versus Rutherglen Glencairn were served up 90 minutes of fast and furious Junior style football, with four great goals and tonight's match referee Don Robertson issuing four red cards.
Before procedings took place, both teams and all fans attending at Fullarton Park, Glasgow paid their own mark of respect, with a minutes silence on behalf of Cumnock Juniors goalkeeper Graham Potter, who died suddenly, 26th July 2009.
Before tonight's match, new Vale manager John Crooks made his feelings crystal clear to his squad that discipline, both on and off the park had to improve. Some may think that with three Vale players shown RED cards, Crooksy had spoken to deaf ears. In hindsight, referee Robertson may have stamped his authority on the field by issuing a severe tounge lashing when needed, rather than red cards, as this was by no stretch of the imagination, a dirty football match.

Vale of Clyde got off the mark early in the first half through Andy Kenna after only 15 minutes with the opening goal of the match as he fired the ball past Glen's goalkeeper Steven McNeil and it stayed that way until half time.
The Vale management team knew that they had to change the set up, second half, after going down to 10 men when Thomas Sinclair was shown RED.
A stroke of true managerial genious followed with the introduction of Derek Anderson onto the field of play as the big striker hit a shot worthy of winning any football match screaming into the Glen's goal with goalkeeper McNeil helpless.
Anderson was'nt finished yet as chased a lost cause and got the better of McNeil once again. The goalkeepers blunder left Anderson with an empty goal and he simply rolled the ball over the line for the Vale's third of the match.
Rutherglen's only goal of the game came in the second half from ex Vale striker Paul McLaughlin with a well placed header, but it was not enough for the Glen's on the night.
Vale of Clyde top the table after tonight's match as the only section 4 club on 3 points.
