Pie & Bovril sounds so good Smiddy. What aboot a giant snawbaw fight !. Staff, players and both sets of fans in a face off. Last man standing wins the tie for his club. Then we can break open a mega carry oot supplied by the losing team, and everybody gets blootered. Yaaaassssssssssssssssss. Game Over !, or am i going aff ma heed.

neilston is the same height as east kilbride. when it snows they are the first ones to get it! how about an ayrshire ground beside the seaside, maybe troon or saltcoats then we can all have a grand day out. both commitees could ask for helpers to get the ground ready in return for a pie and bovril to keep the cockles warm! or is that just me wanting desperately to get out from under the other half"s feet?

Hello Smiddy,
On the astroturf comment, that would be toooooooooooooooo simple mate. You will have to come up with something much more complicated than that pal. There's SNOW CHANCE of that happening or it would have been settled weeks ago.

howzabout neutral peasy where there is astroturf or use the big teahut at fullarton park for a subbuteo match!

Update 17/12/2009,
As you will now be aware, the Scottish Cup 2nd round tie v Johnstone Burgh FC has now been switched once more. The match will now go to Neilston Juniors ground, Brig O' Lea Stadium, which is situated just off the Main street, where it changes to Uplawmoor Rd. There is a coach available for fans wishing to acompany the staff/players. To check availability, please go to the Travel page within the website, where further contact info is given. As snow is forecasted for this weekend, i would advise that you use the contact number before travel. As always, i will do my very best to inform fans from here on Saturday morning as soon as i hear from the staff. Other than that,,,,,,,,enjoy the match. Mon the Vale !!!!!!!. "Win it for Jack".

Thanks for the early update Andy, you saved me another wasted afternoon traveling. What about a pie eating contest between both sets of fans. I hear that you have great pies in your new cabin at Fullarton. The SJFA could pick up the tab.

Well, just where do you start trying to explain this mess. Once again a football pitch fails an inspection. Both teams home grounds have failed to meet the standard required to play this Scottish Cup 2nd round tie, which now goes into the 8th week of asking.
Both teams have now gone 7 weeks without kicking a ball in earnest, and competitive league matches are piling up fast, as this tie has priority. With the weather not about to get much better over the coming weeks, one wonders if this cup tie will be settled this side of 2009. For the sake of both clubs and their fans, someone must make a decision on how to get this game ON.
Any Suggestions !

from what i saw when I arrived at the park there was an area that was clearly waterlogged and unplayable. It is dissappointing that the game was off again but it is better than players getting injured on a dangerous surface, The dissappointing thing is as mentioned there was an early inspection and no further rain. The first referee needs looked at.

Andy - Webmaster
5/12/2009, Firstly, my apologies if anyone traveled to today's match due to information i posted on the website. After an early pitch inspection at Fullarton, the match got the go ahead and i updated that the game was on.
On arrival at the ground, i was aware of fans leaving. On entry i was made aware that the match had been postponed by the referee which surprised me as there had been NO further rain since the game got the go ahead earlier this morning. Vale of Clyde were going through a full training session on the field and in my opinion the surface looked in great condition as the boys went through their paces.
There were many unhappy supporters that travelled to Fullarton Park to take in this long awaited cup tie, just to be informed that their trip was in vain, as the pitch was unplayable. This caused concern for some, as they also could NOT believe that the game was OFF and the pitch looked great.
As of now i understand that the game will once again be at Fullarton Park, Saturday 12th December, Kick Off 1.45. After to-days fiasco, i would'nt hold my breath if i were you. I will do my best to keep you informed from here.
Andy

Just a short update on whats going on. Saturday's fourth attempt to play the match, once again fell foul off the recent spell of bad weather. I'm quite sure that both teams and their fans just want to see this tie put to bed, as its denying both sets of players mutch needed match play. Precious league games are now backlogging which in itself will cause a pile up later in the season. The match has a next possible date of Saturday 28th November. Fingers crossed that it wll go ahead. As usual, i will try and keep you updated from here.

Third time lucky !. After the second successive week of cancelations due to a waterlogged Keanie Park, the match v Johnstone Burgh is now scheduled for Saturday 14th November. For any fans wishing to go along to the match, please phone Brian Kelly before setting off. I will keep you as up to date as i can.

Hello the McBride clan,
Good to hear from the Canadian branch of the Vale of Clyde FC's supporters club. Yes we have been hit by some crazy weather recently as you can see from the pic on our banner above. I took that pic on Christmas Day. Nothing like the conditions you get accross the pond, but enough to cause havoc to the fitba calendar. It's going to be unlucky 13 for one of the clubs as this will be the 13th attempt to play the tie. It has a more than decent chance of going ahead next weekend 23rd Jan on Petershill FC's all weather pitch, so fingers crossed. Hope you are all doing well over there, and all the very best for 2010.
"Mon the Tin Pail".
